Bellator featherweight champion Cris Cyborg says she intends to help Holly Holm prepare for her fight against Kayla Harrison at UFC 300 on 13 April.

Brazil's Cyborg, 38, had hoped to fight former PFL champion Harrison, but hopes of a potential match-up ended when the American joined the UFC last month.

Harrison's bout with Holm in Las Vegas will be her debut in the promotion.

"I talked to the team, talked to Holly. We've been studying Kayla for a little while already," Cyborg said on YouTube. , external

"I'm a super fan of Holly Holm. I think she's a legend. She's a big example for female fighters.

"I'll be a part of her camp, and I think she's going to come with a great victory. It's going to be good."

Hopes that Cyborg and Harrison, 33, would finally meet were raised when the PFL acquired Bellator in November, but Harrison's move to the UFC forced a reshuffle of potential bouts.

Cyborg, who has lost just twice in 30 fights and is widely regarded as one of the greatest MMA fighters of all time, was then slated to face Northern Ireland's Leah McCourt, but she will now take on Sinead Kavanagh at Bellator 302 in Belfast on 22 March instead.

PFL chief executive Peter Murray told BBC Sport "scheduling and logistical issues" were to blame for Cyborg not being matched up with McCourt, and the promotion is now hoping to pair the Brazilian with two-time PFL champion Larissa Pacheco.

Fellow Brazilian Pacheco, 29, won the PFL featherweight title in November to add to her lightweight triumph the year before, becoming the first two-weight champion in the promotion's history.

"The good news is we have some of the best women in the world, for Leah as well as Cris, and we're excited for Cyborg to square off with Larissa Pacheco and other great fighters we have in the mix," said Murray.

"More to come on those details. It was just a matter of scheduling and logistics."
