Breaking news

Everton have been deducted two points for a second breach of Premier League financial rules.

Profit and sustainability rules (PSR) permit clubs to lose £105m over three years and an independent commission found Everton breached that by £16.6m for the three-year period to 2022-23.

They drop one place to 16th and are now two points above the relegation zone.

The Toffees had a 10-point deduction reduced to six on appeal in February for the three-year period to 2021-22.

More to follow.

10 points deduction! Reduced to 6 points deduction
    Forest - 4 point deduction
    Everton - 2 point deduction

    Pick a number any number - bullsh1t!

      And the farce continues.
Everton get deducted 10 points in the middle of the season. Then it’s reduced to 6 points. Few weeks later, another 2 points deducted. What’s next?! Reduced to 1 point which makes 7 altogether.
      What a ridiculous scenario.
      Totally and utterly farcical.
Any club that breaks the rules in the UK SHOULD NOT be punished in the middle of a bleeding season. Period.

It seems like they are making up the points deduction at this point, but we are yet to hear what's going to happen to Man City!!!

They are part of the hallowed and never to be questioned 'Top 6'. Imagine the loss in TV and merchandise revenues in Asia if one of the overlords was to be relegated due to a points deduction.

They're just making this up as they go along. Does anyone know the sanctions policy?

The different treatment that clubs like Man City are getting clearly stinks

      So boring. Two different things.

Everton have been unlucky here and shousk appeal. 1 point would have been appropriate at the most

This is a joke right? After they've come out and said they are going to rethink the way they do this from next season, so this is just an open witch hunt to get Everton out of the Premier League!

Everton, Forest, and now Everton again. Whilst Citeh get away scott free when they are coincidentally getting rid of points deductions next year!

Ah yes of course, silly me. Rules for thee but not for me.

Because this have you say is about Everton and if and when any other club are fined/have points deducted then there will be a HYS about them.

Ridiculous. Forest exceed the limit by nearly three times what we did and get half of our net punishment. Joke.

Why not dock all points at a specific date each year around October so clubs have time to appeal

Making it up as they go along, laughable.

  • Comment posted by skjbyrne, today at 14:08

So Everton 1st charge = 10 points, reduced to 6 on appeal. There second charge = 2 points? Eh? And Forest get 4 points because they got 2 points awarded off because of cooperation. This makes no bloody sense!

  • Comment posted by Alexander 'Trump' Wilson , today at 14:06

hahahah - imagine punishing a team for spending money to try and improve their team. FFP is the biggest load of BS, it is ruining football but English fans love lapping that crap up.

Do you seriously believe that with the money at stake the big clubs don’t bribe referees, the regulators, VAR operatives.

This sort of behaviour isn’t just a thing that happens in “those foreign leagues”

  • Comment posted by aye, today at 14:07

Finger in the air to decide how many points to take off. League looks like a farce not having a clue what they are doing.

  • Comment posted by COYR, today at 14:07

    Bottled it.

They scrap this before other "bigger " clubs come under scrutiny.
