League Two strugglers Salford City have appointed former Oxford and MK Dons boss Karl Robinson as their head coach.

The 43-year-old replaces Neil Wood, who was sacked on 27 December after eight league games without a win.

It is Robinson's first managerial role since leaving Oxford in February, whilst his most recent job was as assistant manager under Sam Allardyce at Leeds, in May.

He joins the club with the Ammies currently sitting 21st in the table.
