England's Owen Farrell is to leave Saracens after 15 years at the end of this season to join French Top 14 side Racing 92.
The 32-year-old fly-half has spent his whole career at the StoneX Stadium having made his debut aged 17.
In November he announced he was taking a break from international rugby to "prioritise his mental wellbeing".
The Rugby Football Union (RFU) does not allow players based abroad to be selected for England.

I wish him every success. A man who puts everything out there for his national team, often carrying colleagues who don’t follow the tactical plan and then getting pilloried for the mistakes that can’t be avoided. Enjoy your new life Sir. And thank you for what you’ve done for the National team

England France based exiles coached by England France based coach (Shaun Edwards) would very possibly beat the current England team. This story is actually much bigger than Faz

England, build you up knock you down. Yeah he’s got faults but so has everyone on the planet. He’s been a loyal servant. He can do what he wants and good luck to him. Imagine living and playing in a foreign country with your family, away from the constant sniping here. Bliss.

Great decision, the gallagher prem is a busted flush. Lowest standard in pro rugby at present, awful attendances and an awful TV deal. No wonder clubs are folding.

Good luck to the man but shame there's a HYS as already a load of derogatory and defamatory comments about him already.
Interesting it was only a week or so ago there were articles about online bullying and harassment and yet they persist on an international broadcaster website.Comment posted by Yorkshirebound, today at 19:15

Kind of sad he had to go down the old ‘mental health’ road with this..

Avoid injury in the six nations to guarantee a big pay day in France, interesting.

Go where the money is, I would. If the RFU don't want to pick him because he's in France it's their loss. Australia and South Africa do not employ such draconian rules so why should the RFU?

Thought he was taken time off for his mental well being?

Break from international rugby to negotiate his contract with racing

Lots of bitterness and jealous comments, no surprise there! He's a professional athlete with talent and has probably worked hard for many years to get where he has. Good luck in the latest chapter of your career Mr Farrell.
