Forest sign midfielder Reyna on loan from Dortmund

Giovanni Reyna has made 11 appearances for Borussia Dortmund this year, 10 of which came as a substitute

Nottingham Forest have signed United States midfielder Giovanni Reyna from Borussia Dortmund on loan until the end of the season.

Now 21, he has started only once in the league this season.

On announcing the loan, Dortmund said Reyna had signed a new contract running until June 2026.

There is no option for Forest to make the loan deal permanent.

Reyna is the son of former United States midfielder Claudio and was born in Sunderland, where his father played between 2001 and 2003.

He was part of the US World Cup squad in Qatar in 2022 but did not play after a dispute between his family and coach Gregg Berhalter.
