English pair Charley Hull and Justin Rose are two shots off the lead after the first round of the Grant Thornton Invitational in Naples, Florida.
Rose and Hull carded a round of 58 at the PGA & LPGA Tour mixed event which left them 14 under par in a four-way tie for third.
American duo Nelly Korda and Tony Finau are top of the leaderboard after they went through in 56 to finish 16 under.
Korda and Finau birdied the 18th to pull clear of a tightly grouped pack.
Ireland's Leona Maguire and American partner Lucas Glover are a shot behind at 15 under, tied for second place with Denny McCarthy and Megan Khang of the United States.
Staged over three rounds at the Tiburon Golf Club from 8-10 December for a shared £3.5m ($4m) purse, the event features 16 mixed pairs.
The last mixed team event held by the PGA Tour and LPGA Tour was the 1999 JC Penney Classic.
