Rangers have signed midfielder Mohamed Diomande from Danish club Nordsjaelland on loan with an obligation to buy for an undisclosed fee.

The 22-year-old, who has played for Ivory Coast at under-23 level, has agreed a four-year contract at Ibrox.

Diomande will arrive in Glasgow once he is granted a work permit.

He told Rangers' website he is "very excited to join such a historic club and I've heard a lot of good things about the team".

"I had a lot of great conversations with the manager, who told me about his plans for the team and where I would fit in, which helped convince me that Rangers was right for me," he said.

Diomande signed for Nordsjaelland in 2020 from the Right to Dream Academy in Ghana.

He helped them finish runners-up in the Danish Superliga last season and has played 21 times this campaign.

That included seven appearances in the Europa Conference League as Nordsjaelland came through qualification before finishing third in their group.

Johannes Hoff Thorup's side currently sit fifth in the Danish top flight.

Diomande becomes Philippe Clement's second signing as Rangers manager following the arrival of forward Fabio Silva on loan from Wolves.
