Saracens beat Exeter to extend lead at top

Saracens moved six points clear at the top of the Premiership Women's Rugby after beating Exeter 39-36.

Tries from Ella Wyrwas, May Campbell and Sophie de Goede gave Sarries a narrow 17-14 lead at half-time.

Claudia MacDonald's try briefly put Chiefs ahead after the break, but Paige Farries and Jess Breach restored Saracens' advantage.

Marlie Packer and Leanne Infante then went over to seal the win, despite a late score from Kanako Kobayashi.

Elsewhere, Gloucester-Hartpury moved above Exeter and into second place with a 33-27 victory away at Trailfinders.

Rachel Lund, Lleucu George, Neve Jones, Sarah Beckett and Mo Hunt went over for the defending champions to maintain their unbeaten start to the season

Liz Crake crossed twice for Trailfinders, with a late rally ensuring they secured a losing bonus point.

Kathryn Treder scored a late try as Loughborough Lightning recovered from 19-0 down to beat Harlequins 29-26 in a thriller at Twickenham Stoop.

Two tries from Shaunagh Brown either side of a Lagi Tuima score put Harlequins in control early on, though Treder and Georgina Tasker tries made it 19-12 at the break,

Bo Westcombe-Evans and Hallie Taufoo put Loughborough in front in the second half, only for Aseza Hele to restore Harlequins' lead in a topsy-turvy contest.

Treder won it for Lightning with her second try with just two minutes remaining.

Bristol Bears ran over seven tries in a dominant 50-12 win over bottom side Leicester Tigers at Welford Road.

Deborah Wills, Meg Varley, Meryl Smith and Delaney Burns all went over in the first half as the Bears secured a bonus point by the interval.

A penalty try and further scores from Holly Aitchison, Tilly Smale and Abbie Ward sealed a comfortable victory in the second half.
