Manchester United and England defender Luke Shaw is facing a battle to be fit for Euro 2024 after suffering a recurrence of a leg injury during Sunday's Premier League win at Luton.

Shaw, 28, was replaced just before half-time at Kenilworth Road.

That came just seven days after failing to appear for the second half of his side's win at Aston Villa.

United manager Erik ten Hag said after the game at Luton it "did not look great" for Shaw.

There are now fears full-back Shaw will be sidelined for weeks and potentially unavailable for the rest of the Premier League campaign.

That would put his place in Gareth Southgate's England squad in doubt for this summer's tournament in Germany.

For United, it also leaves Ten Hag without a recognised left-back.

The Dutchman opted to cut short Sergio Reguilon's loan from Tottenham during the January transfer window, believing Shaw and Tyrell Malacia were close to fitness after injury.

However, Dutchman Malacia has yet to feature this season, leaving Victor Lindelof as the most likely option for Saturday's home game with Fulham.
